Introduction

I'm 43. I enjoy short walks as it keeps me fit. According to my doctor and a friend who is a dietitian, walking is good for me so till they tell me otherwise I will keep doing it. I am a student doing a creative writing course and have had an opportunity to develop a blog. So here goes.
This is aimed at people who like to go on short social walks. For those who want to explore new walks, this is the blog for you. This site will help you find out about walks that you won't see mentioned elsewhere, but you would explore them if you knew of them. I'm a little hesitant to share these walks in case they become tourist meccas. I would like to keep them to myself, but these walks deserve to be shared. My blog proposal is about the hidden gems of walks you will find in and around Wellington. From personal experience there are walks that even locals don't know about as there are that many around. So the next time you have friends or family from out of town you will be able to take them on a walk they won't find advertised anywhere else (at this point).
This came about after hearing a comment about hidden gems of walks scattered around Wellington. A woman I met last March at dancing was forced to stay in Wellington during that really bad storm as her ferry was cancelled. She asked me what there was to do in Wellington. There are things you can do that you just don't get to hear about through tourist sites. The only way you hear about them are locals knowledge. Also I want to have a look at some lesser known tourist activites.
